Courtney Heiser is a painter working and living in Los Angeles. Here are a few words from her on her work:

Within my own artwork, I like paint to look like paint. I want to anthropomorphize emotion, and in my paintings I use strategically distorted depictions of bodies along with abstract colors and shapes to reflect childhood memories, satirize conventional cultural responses to feminism, and to make public the traditionally private.

Kyle Mckay produces abstract paintings with oil and acrylic mediums. In undermining the concept of the artist’s obligation to maintain a single cohesive style, his art follows somewhat the examples of Gerhard Richter and Joan Mitchell. He draws many inspirations from Picasso, Rothko, Lee Krasner and Pollock. His paintings range from heavy-layered and blended textures, to smooth contiguous synthesis of color. Kyle enjoys long walks on the beach, the feeling of sand between his toes, and the delicious cold brewed flavor of 211 Steel Reserve.
